Zach tragically lost his life on November 6, 2024, at the age of 29, following a fatal accident. His sudden passing has left his family, friends, and the Delran community devastated, yet his memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Early Life and Education
Zach was born on January 23, 1995, in Delran, New Jersey, to Robert and Michelle Bautz. Growing up in Delran, he quickly became known for his vibrant personality, kind heart, and infectious energy. Zach graduated from Delran High School in 2013, where he excelled academically and was an active participant in sports and extracurricular activities. As a talented athlete, Zach found a particular passion for baseball, which he played with dedication and skill, making him a respected member of his high school team.
Following high school, Zach attended Rowan College at Burlington County, where he continued to pursue his love for sports and his education. Known for his work ethic, he eventually built a career in construction, working as a project manager for a local company. Zach’s colleagues admired his attention to detail and dedication, and he took great pride in his work, consistently going above and beyond in all he did.

Passion for the Outdoors
Outside of his professional life, Zach was a passionate outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hiking, and exploring nature, often spending his free time in the beauty of the outdoors. His sense of adventure and ability to find joy in simple things defined him. Whether he was on a quiet fishing trip or a spontaneous road trip with friends, Zach embraced each moment with enthusiasm and joy.
Family and Friends
Zach was deeply devoted to his family. He shared a close bond with his parents, Robert and Michelle, and his younger sister, Emily. The Bautz family was central to his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. As a son and brother, Zach was loyal and compassionate, always offering support, guidance, and a listening ear.
His friends were equally important to him, many of whom he had known since childhood. Known for his warmth, kindness, and generosity, Zach was always willing to lend a helping hand. His friends will remember him as a source of joy and support, someone who made everyone feel welcome and included.
Survived By
Zach is survived by his parents, Robert and Michelle Bautz; his sister, Emily Bautz; his paternal grandparents, Richard and Margaret Bautz; and his maternal grandparents, James and Linda Smith. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his uncle, David Bautz, whom Zach deeply admired.
Memorial Service
A celebration of Zach’s life will take place on Monday, November 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church in Marlton, NJ. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson, NJ.
Honoring Zach’s Love for the Outdoors
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Zach’s memory to the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), a nonprofit organization that aligns with Zach’s love for nature and his passion for exploration and growth.
