Samuel Flint Car Accident: Lincoln High School Student Dies in Tragic Crash on October 11, 2024

Shinnston, WV – The Shinnston community is mourning the sudden and tragic loss of Samuel Joshua Holyfield Flint, a 17-year-old student at Lincoln High School, who passed away in a car accident on October 11, 2024. Samuel was a bright and active member of the senior class, known for his involvement in athletics and his close friendships with classmates.

Samuel was born on March 20, 2007, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, to Rebecca Alexis Maversa Isabel Holyfield Taylor and her husband John of Pittsburgh, as well as Joshua D. Flint of Shinnston.

Family and Loved Ones

Samuel is survived by his brother Adam Fleming of Morgantown, along with his grandparents Walter R. and Donna Flint of Morgantown. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved dogs, Cash and Scout. His family and friends are devastated by the loss of such a young and promising life.

School and Athletics

Samuel was a beloved and engaged member of the Senior Class at Lincoln High School. He participated in several athletic teams, including basketball, football, track, cross-country, and wrestling. His athletic spirit, combined with his friendly and humorous nature, made him a cherished friend and teammate.

Beyond his passion for sports, Samuel had a keen interest in video games and fitness, regularly working out at the gym. He was also progressing rapidly in his job at Chick-fil-A and had aspirations to pursue a career in physical therapy.

Funeral Arrangements

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Perine Funeral Home in Shinnston on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Michael Holyfield, Samuel’s great-uncle, officiating.

Samuel’s passing has left a deep void in the lives of his family, friends, and the entire Lincoln High School community. His memory will be cherished for the laughter, kindness, and positive energy he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him.
